Research Summary

Davide Bason studies supersymmetric gauge theories in situations where boundaries, defects, and curved backgrounds make exact field-theoretic structures visible. Recent work on BCFT one-point functions and boundary conditions of four-dimensional N=2 gauge theories is complemented by studies of N=2 super Yang-Mills theory in AdS4, F_AdS-maximization, and AdS F-theorems. The broader theme is to understand how supersymmetry, boundary data, and generalized symmetries constrain quantum field theories, especially when higher-form or 2-group symmetries are gauged only on part of spacetime.
