Research Summary
Ling-Yan Hung connects holography, tensor networks, topological order, and categorical symmetries by treating emergence of spacetime and emergence of critical lattice models as related renormalization problems. Her recent work formulates AdS3/CFT2 as a symmetry-preserving quantum RG flow and uses BCFT ensembles and tensor networks to reconstruct emergent geometry and rational CFT data. In parallel, her studies of SymTFT boundaries, anyon condensation, and competing condensation channels show how categorical symmetry data can control both topological phases and the critical theories that appear at their interfaces.
