Research Summary

Rongge Xu works on topological phases, categorical algebra, and quantum many-body systems. His recent representative work uses categorical descriptions of one-dimensional gapped phases with Abelian onsite symmetries and 2-Morita equivalence of condensable algebras to compare different algebraic presentations of the same topological data. This perspective is useful for understanding how boundary theories, condensation processes, and topological orders are related, especially when ordinary symmetry labels are not fine enough to distinguish phases.
